Steven Berkoff Biography
Steven Berkoff, born Leslie Steven Berks, is an English actor, author, playwright, theatre practitioner, and theatre director. He is known for his distinctive style of theatre, referred to as 'Berkovian theatre,' which combines physical theatre, total theatre, and expressionism. Berkoff's plays often feature intense and taboo-breaking material, which has led to his work being associated with the in-yer-face theatre movement. In addition to his theatre work, Berkoff has also appeared in numerous films, often playing villainous roles. Some of his notable film performances include General Orlov in Octopussy (1983), Victor Maitland in Beverly Hills Cop (1984), Lt. Col. Podovsky in Rambo: First Blood Part II (1985), and Adolf Hitler in the TV mini-series War and Remembrance (1988–89).
