James B. Sikking Biography
James Barrie Sikking (born March 5, 1934) is an American former actor. He is best known for his role as Lt. Howard Hunter on the 1980s TV series Hill Street Blues. Sikking was born in Los Angeles on March 5, 1934 to Andy and Sue Sikking. He graduated from UCLA in 1959. Sikking starred as Dr. David Howser on the ABC TV series Doogie Howser, M.D., and as Captain Stan Jonas on Brooklyn South. He also appeared as Sergeant Howard Hunter on Hill Street Blues from 1981 to 1987. Sikking's film work includes The Competition, Outland, Up the Creek, Star Trek III: The Search for Spock, and Narrow Margin.
