George Harris Kennedy Jr. (February 18, 1925 – February 28, 2016) was an American actor known for his appearances in over 100 film and television productions. He gained recognition for his role as 'Dragline' alongside Paul Newman in Cool Hand Luke (1967), which earned him an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor and a Golden Globe nomination. Kennedy received another Golden Globe nomination for his portrayal of Joe Patroni in Airport (1970). Throughout his career, he had significant roles in various films including Lonely Are the Brave, Charade, Strait-Jacket, The Dirty Dozen, and The Naked Gun series. His acting skills made him a renowned personality in the world of film and television.
