Frazer Hines Biography
Frazer Hines is an English actor, born on September 22, 1944. He started his acting career as a child and appeared in the film A King in New York (1957) alongside Charlie Chaplin. Hines is best known for his role as Jamie McCrimmon in the popular TV series Doctor Who. He portrayed the character from 1966 to 1969, making him the companion with the most appearances in the show's history. Hines also made guest appearances in the 1980s episodes The Five Doctors and The Two Doctors. In addition to Doctor Who, he had a long-running role as Joe Sugden in Emmerdale Farm from 1972 to 1994. Hines was born in Horsforth, Leeds, and later moved to Harrogate with his family. He attended Western Board Primary School and Norwood College, and developed an interest in acting through his parents' involvement in a local amateur dramatics group.
