David Payton Biography
David Payton is a former diplomat and administrator. Born around 1952, he served as the Administrator of Tokelau from 2006 to 2009. Payton began his career in 1975 with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, working in the aid division assisting Niue. He held various diplomatic positions including Senior Advisor to the Secretary-General for the International Conference on Population and Development and New Zealand Ambassador to Saudi Arabia and the Netherlands. Payton retired from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade in 2014 at the age of 62. He has made significant contributions to international diplomacy and development during his career.
